MPT presents the GBMC Women's Health Conference
Health workshops and screenings for a sound body and mind

OWINGS MILLS, MD
: Opportunity's knocking. Women of the region once again have the chance to reserve some personal time for synchronizing mind and body. On Saturday, May 18 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., the GBMC Women's Health Conference presented by Maryland Public Television returns to Marriott's Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

This year's conference features a wide array of carefully selected breakout sessions - cosmetic surgery, diabetes, finance, pediatric dentistry, stress management, and making medical decisions, among others. Local philanthropist and noted community contributor C. Sylvia Brown chairs this third annual Women's Health Conference.

The May 2002 Women's Health Conference features two nationally renowned keynote speakers. David Lipschitz, MD, PhD., best known as "Dr. David," host of public television's Aging Successfully with Dr. David series, is morning keynote speaker. Pamela Peeke, MD, MPH expert in the fields of nutrition, stress, and integrative medicine, author of the best-selling book Fight Fat After Forty and medical correspondent for PBS' HealthWeek - is afternoon keynote speaker.

Health screenings, a continental breakfast, elegant seated lunch, prize drawings, gift bag, and a myriad of give-aways are included in the $30.00 admission charge. The number of tickets available is limited. Tickets are available by calling (800) 873-6154 or by logging on to the MPT Web site at mpt.org. The day's agenda, keynote bios, and general information are found on that same Web page.

Maryland Public Television with the support of GBMC Healthcare, Inc., Quaker Oats Company, the National Women's Health Resource Center, Owings Mills Times, Baltimore's Child, Maryland Family, and 101.9 LITE FM brings the GBMC Women's Health Conference to the community.
