VETERAN FINANCIAL CORRESPONDENT KAREN GIBBS JOINS
GEOFFREY COLVIN AS CO-HOST OF
MPT'S WALL $TREET WEEK WITH FORTUNE
Owings Mills, MD: Veteran business reporter Karen Gibbs has been
named co-host of Wall $treet Week with FORTUNE, it was announced
today by Robert J. Shuman, president and CEO of Maryland Public Television.
Gibbs will join Geoffrey Colvin, FORTUNE Editorial Director, on the re-invented
and renamed Wall $treet Week with FORTUNE, which premieres on PBS
on Friday, June 28, from 8:30-9 p.m. (ET). Local times may vary.
"Gibbs and Colvin bring a wealth of financial expertise and trusted
insight to Wall $treet Week with FORTUNE," said Shuman. "This
combination of talented financial journalists will bring investors a fresh
and engaging new perspective with solid, sensible advice on how to survive
in today's volatile markets."

Prior to joining Wall $treet Week with FORTUNE, Gibbs spent five
years as a senior business correspondent for FOX News Channel, contributing
and serving as a substitute anchor on Your World With Neil Cavuto
and appearing as a regular panelist on Cavuto On Business. From
1992-1997, she was an anchor at CNBC, where she specialized in the credit
and futures markets, and hosted such programs as Money Wheel and
Minding Your Business. Prior to joining CNBC, Gibbs spent nearly
ten years at Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc., where she was a vice president
and senior futures strategist. She began her career at the Chicago Board
of Trade as a board marker and left as a member of the Office of Investigations
and Audits. She received an MBA in finance and marketing from the University
of Chicago.
Colvin is one of America's preeminent business journalists, serving as

Director, and reporting daily for the CBS Radio Network, where he is heard
by some 7 million people each week. His broadcast appearances include
interviews on ABC's Good Morning America and World News Tonight,
CBS This Morning, CNN, NBC's Today and PBS's Nightly
Business Report. He is also a frequent co-anchor on CNBC's Squawk
Box. Since joining FORTUNE in 1978, Colvin has written hundreds of
articles for the magazine ranging from the infotech revolution to shareholder
value imperatives. He has also served as moderator of FORTUNE's well known
conferences, including the FORTUNE Global Forum, where he has interviewed
Bill Gates, Jack Welch, Herb Kelleher, Peter Drucker and other business
legends. Colvin graduated Harvard cum laude with a B.A. in economics,
and received his M.B.A from New York University's Stern School.
