About

Generations of Maryland families enjoy an expansive array of natural and historic public spaces close to home. In fact, there is a public park within 20 minutes drive of every citizen in Maryland. Many Marylanders grew up playing and learning first-hand about the outdoors in state, county, municipal parks and preserves, as well as national parks and historic sites around Maryland. The desire to expand upon and pass along these valuable personal experiences to future generations is a worthy aspiration.

The forth-coming seminal work from PBS and Ken Burns, National Parks: America's Best Idea, has awakened an interest in the history and value of our national, state and municipal parklands and recreational areas; along with an appreciation of conservation issues. This 12-hour, six-part series will be the lynchpin upon which MPT will present themed local and national content to be distributed across multiple platforms, along with our support partner, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

		Outdoors Maryland: Love Our Parks Also coming this fall, MPT's one-hour special offering viewers an armchair exploration of Maryland's wonderfully diverse national and state parks.
		Park Quest Park Quest takes you from the mountains of Western Maryland to the shores of the treasured Chesapeake Bay and beyond. Along the way you learn about the great state of Maryland!
		Flip-cam Video For Park Quest 2009, MPT has supplied flip-cams and asked families to send footage as they travel to state parks all over Maryland. We hope this video will help you to plan your own trip to one of our parks!
