Generations of Maryland families enjoy an expansive array of natural and historic public spaces close to home. In fact, there is a public park within 20 minutes drive of every citizen in Maryland. Many Marylanders grew up playing and learning first-hand about the outdoors in state, county, municipal parks and preserves, as well as national parks and historic sites around Maryland. The desire to expand upon and pass along these valuable personal experiences to future generations is a worthy aspiration.

Department of Natural ResourcesThe forth-coming seminal work from PBS and Ken Burns, National Parks: America's Best Idea, has awakened an interest in the history and value of our national, state and municipal parklands and recreational areas; along with an appreciation of conservation issues. This 12-hour, six-part series will be the lynchpin upon which MPT will present themed local and national content to be distributed across multiple platforms, along with our support partner, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
